NanoFID | Privacy Policy and Research Disclosure

1. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of data to facilitate your research.

Account Information: When you sign in with Google via Supabase Auth, we receive your Google account email address, display name, and a unique user ID. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Identity Metrics: Mathematical centroids generated via DBSCAN clustering or elementwise means of your training embeddings.

Research Instrumentation: Quantitative artifacts including Diversity Scores (intra-class variance), Inter-class Separation (pairwise centroid distance), and the Generalization Gap (test accuracy vs. live confidence).

2. Anonymization and Aggregation

The core mission of NanoFID is to study how facial recognition models behave across different conditions.

The Bucket System: Research metrics are aggregated into global datasets for algorithmic bias analysis.

De-identification: When these metrics are used for broader research, they are decoupled from your User ID. No specific performance results are tied back to your individual identity in any external report or publication.

3. Third-Party Services

NanoFID relies on the following third-party data processors.

Google Sign-In: Used for authentication. Google's privacy policy governs data handled during sign-in.

Supabase: Used for authentication token management and database hosting. Supabase acts as a data processor on our behalf.

Hosting Provider: Backend inference runs on CPU-based cloud infrastructure. No biometric data is logged at the infrastructure level.

4. Cookies and Session Tokens

Supabase Auth uses short-lived JWT session tokens stored in your browser to maintain your login session. These are not used for advertising or tracking across other websites.

5. Data Ownership and Deletion

You maintain full sovereignty over your data.

Right to Delete: You may delete your datasets or your entire account at any time from within the application. Deleting a dataset removes its stored embeddings and associated research metrics.
